Pasadena City Hall Engagement Session
Meet Simaima & David. These two met in college about 10 years ago. Simaima was trying to recruit students in her Polynesian club. David just so happened to walk by and decided to sign up. "I thought she was cute & I really wanted to get her attention so I wrote my name real BIG!" We all laughed as Simaima recalled seeing his name on the list taking up two whole lines. But not only did they attend the same college, they also went to the same church! They were truly destined to meet one way or the other. This November they are tying the knot and I couldn't be happier for them! Please enjoy this #PasadenaCityHallEngagementSession
This was my absolute fave shot from this session. Right after sunset, something magical known as the Blue hour occurs. With the help of my camera, I brought out those blue colors a little more. I then positioned my flash directly behind my clients with a red gel. I quickly ran to the other side of the building and with my telephoto lens, I was able to capture this awesome portrait! Totally worth it!
I'm a sucker for architecture and columns. I love incorporating them in my work because they add such a grand effect to any photo. I knew I wanted to place my clients at the entrance of the Pasadena City Hall but, lighting was going to be a bit tricky in this dim space. Luckily, my awesome assistant Isamar, helped by holding the flash directly above my couple. Later in post-production, I made sure to not only remove that out but also, remove any and all distracting elements.
But wait, there's more! This was just the formal portion of their engagement session. For the casual, more relaxed portion, we headed to the Los Angeles County Arboretum.
